No, our sole focus is general medical and surgical dermatology. While we don’t perform cosmetic procedures, we WILL enthusiastically help you to select a simple regimen to optimize your skin’s health, its resilience, and its unique features.

No. Because direct pay does not involve insurance requirements, the hassle/delay caused by mandatory referrals is absent. (Insurers use referral requirements as an obstacle, making it harder for you to secure the care you seek so that their spending on your behalf can stay low.)

Makeup foundation is tough to see past, so your exam will be much more thorough without it. Some sunscreens, as well. Basic moisturizer, however, is not a problem

As long as your written consent (accessible under Patient Forms) is signed, patients 15-17 can come in on their own. Parents, you’re encouraged to be present by phone during unaccompanied visits.

Most of the time, regular daily tasks and driving can be resumed after a procedure without sedation. You may request an explanatory doctor's note for your school or employer if needed.

Yes! This is especially useful for assessing acne, checking progress with a medication, and getting a prompt look at a worrisome new growth. Of course there are instances where better magnification and lighting are crucial, and when a biopsy or other in-person test is unavoidable. In these situations, we will work with you to accommodate an in-person exam.

Yes, because medication approval doesn’t depend on who prescribed it. Additionally, the Rash Decisions team will help you find the best price for your medications, whether this uses your insurance or transparent pricing options such as GoodRx.
Furthermore, we will ***enthusiastically*** help you avoid insurer traps whereby your medication costs are higher than necessary, solely to enhance profit to the insurance company. -

Medications List: All current medications, including over-the-counter.
Skin Care Products:
Current products (photos or actual containers).
List of previously tried products and reasons they were discontinued.
Medical Records:
Past pathology reports, and past doctor’s notes if available.
Treatment timeline: briefly list the history of medications tried, whether they worked, side effects.
Results of Patch Testing for skin allergies, if ever done.
Photos: Any pictures showing changes in your skin condition.

Highly accurate staged removal of cancer via Mohs’ surgery has become a gold standard for managing challenging skin malignancies. In rare cases, surgical oncologists and plastic surgeons are also crucial to success. Our practice does not perform Mohs’ surgery, so take reassurance that if you need, or simply prefer, high level expertise in response to receiving a concerning diagnosis, we will not delay in coordinating prompt follow through to secure the best care available to you in our community.

Rash Decisions implements constantly updated software and a protocol that upholds all HIPAA regulations. The storage of your medical records is secured, digital communications between you and our office are encrypted, and your information is only shared with your specific written consent or as required by law.
